About the Author

Hi! I'm Lisa Stough, the author of Healing Letters: A Companion Guide to Writing Unsent Letters in the Healing Process as well as Heavens of Idolatry: Shedding the gods of Perfectionism. I am a stay-at-home-mom (SAHM) to my 3 beautiful blessings, Sophia, Ethan and Josiah, and wife to my best friend Ryan.

We attend a Messianic Jewish congregation in St. Louis. I began following the Lord in October of 1992.

Along with writing as an interest, I enjoy horseback riding, reading, photography, and teaching of any kind - homeschooling, mentoring, discipling, lay-counseling.

I believe as ambassadors of our Messiah, every believer is called to move forward in a growing relationship with God marked by discipleship, mentoring, and healthy, edifying relationships with other believers. Heaven is not full of islands. It is a family of people.

Healing Letters is my first book, and The Heavens of Idolatry is my second. My first published work however, was in middle school with school publications, then high school and on into college and adulthood.

To call writing a hobby in some ways seems like an overstatement since it's more like just an extension of my brain. I mean, how else is stuff supposed to get out of me? Writing for me is more like a graphic organizer... sometimes too graphic. I wrote so much through therapy that my counselor thought for sure I would write a book someday, but I snarled every time she hinted at it. She was amused when I called to tell her I was writing my first book. :-)

Seeing how God has transformed my life with this Healing Letters project, I expect He wants to transform other lives as well. I always love to hear how God is working in the lives of His people and thereby throughout the world and history. Please feel free to write to me at healingletters@yhti.net.
